Los Angeles: TriStar Pictures, 1990. Very early Revised Draft Script for the 1990 film, dated seven years prior to the production of the film. Based on the short story, "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale," by Philip K. Dick.
A wild and violent ride in the spirit of Verhoeven's "Robocop," "Total Recall" stars Schwarzenegger as a 21st-century construction worker who discovers that his entire memory of the past derives from a memory chip implanted in his brain, learning that he is actually a secret agent who had become a threat to the government. To deal with the threat, those in power planted the chip and invented a domestic lifestyle for him. Once he has realized his true identity, he travels to Mars to piece together the rest of his identity, as well as to find the man responsible for his implanted memory [The AllMovie Guide].
