The uncommon dust jacket is the best we have encountered, exceptionally colorful and fresh, with only the lightest wear at a couple of corners. Author's first book, a novel about street gangs in 1940s Brooklyn, basis for the 1949 film noir City Across the River, directed by Maxwell Shane and starring Stephen McNally, Thelma Ritter and Tony Curtis.
