Original pressbook for the 1949 film, "The Lady Gambles" directed by Michael Gordon, written for the screen by Roy Huggins, and starring Barbara Stanwyck, Robert Preston, and Stephen McNally. A woman (Barbara Stanwyck) spirals into a gambling addiction, driving away her faithful husband (Robert Preston). 12 pages, saddle stitched, 12 x 18 inches. Very Good condition. Moderate horizontal fold crease at the center of the wrapper and pages, with a one inch closed tear to the front wrapper at the crease and some starting at the hinge fold. Contemporary date (about one month before the US release) and some marks in color pencil to the front wrapper. Stamp of Fortunat Baronat, head of Universal's Foreign Publicity Department at the time of the film's release, at three places. [Book #110952]
