Queen Bee

Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1955. Original pressbook for the 1955 film, "Queen Bee," written and directed by Ranald MacDougall, based on the 1949 novel by Edna Lee. Starring Joan Crawford, Barry Sullivan, Betsy Palmer, and John Ireland. Eva Phillips (Joan Crawford), a seemingly charming socialite, manipulates the lives and loves of those around her. 15 pages, saddle stitched, 12 x 16 inches.

Very Good plus condition. Moderate horizontal fold crease at the center of the wrapper and pages. Wrappers are lightly soiled and rubbed, with a single, tiny closed tear at the bottom edge affecting both wrappers and interior pages. Lacking any of the starting or fray normally found on pressbooks. "Vitriolic late noir about a consummate witch, played, as no one else could, by Joan Crawford." Selby (1984) 320. Lyons, p. 182.
