Sorry, Wrong Number

Los Angeles: Paramount, 1948. Original pressbook for the 1948 film noir, "Sorry, Wrong Number," directed by Anatole Litvak and written for the screen by Lucille Fletcher based on her hit 1943 radio play. Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Burt Lancaster, Ann Richards, and Wendell Corey.

An invalid (Barbara Stanwyck) accidentally discovers her own murder being plotted over the telephone. Claustrophobic and shot in high expressionist style, the film retains the grim, ironic ending of its play source, and garnered Stanwyck her fourth and final Oscar nomination.

24 pages, saddle stitched, 12-1/4 x 15 inches. Very Good condition. Faint horizontal fold crease at the center of the wrapper and pages. Some bruising to the wrappers, particularly the front edge. Tiny bit of starting to lower hinge fold and light soiling overall.

Selby (1984) 376. Silver and Ward, pp. 262-263.
