Los Angeles: Paramount, 1950. Original pressbook for the 1950 film noir, "No Man of Her Own," directed by Mitchell Leisen, based on the 1948 novel "I Married a Dead Man" by Cornell Woolrich writing as William Irish. Written for the screen by Sally Benson and Catherine Turney, and starring Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund, and Lyle Bettger. A pregnant woman (Barbara Stanwyck), on the run from her gangster boyfriend (Lyle Bettger), assumes a new identity when the train she is on crashes and the newlywed couple sitting next to her are killed. 12 pages, saddle stitched, 12 1/4 x 15 inches. In a strong Very Good plus condition. Faint horizontal fold crease at the center of the wrapper and pages. Wrappers are lightly soiled with a few small, scattered stress marks. Tiniest hints of separation to the top and bottom of hinge fold. "Fervent, suspenseful woman's noir that actually seems to elevate its Woolrich source material." Selby 285. Silver and Ward, p. 395.
