The Art of Eating

London: Faber and Faber, 1963. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author to her friends and noted art and book collectors Lucille and Walter Fillin on the front endpaper, making uncommon use of her full name: "For Lucille and Walter Fillin / M.F.K. Fisher / Glen Ellen / 1981 / (with love from Mary Frances)."

An attractive, elegantly designed bookplate titled "Lucille Fillin Cookbook Collection" is present on the front pastedown.

The first collected edition of the author's earliest works on all things related to food, eating and dining: "Serve It Forth" (1937), "How to Cook a Wolf" (1942), "Consider the Oyster" (1941), "The Gastronomical Me" (1943), and "An Alphabet for Gourmets" (1939).

Near Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket. An uncommon presentation on a lovely copy of this key Fisher title.
