The Salamander

New York: Bobbs-Merrill, 1914. First Edition. Near Fine in a bright, Very Good plus dust jacket. Jacket has several small chips and tiny closed tears at the extremities (the most notable being a corner chip at the bottom front panel), but with no loss to the titling. An early twentieth century feminist novel, with a blurb on the front jacket panel that reads: "A girl of the present day in revolt--adventurous, eager and unafraid; without standards, home ties or religion; with a passion to explore but not to experience, and a curiosity fed by the zest of life." Basis for the 1916 silent film of the same name, directed by Arthur Donaldson and starring Ruth Findlay. [Book #114196]
