New York: Works Publishing, 1942. Third printing. The First Edition was published in 1939, but the book didn't achieve its phenomenal popularity until a few years later, with the second printing coming in 1942, the third the following year, and a 12th printing by the end of the decade.
The front pastedown, recto and verso of the front endpaper have been completely inscribed with contemporary owner names, presumably members of the original owner's AA group (making this a somewhat ironic copy).
Very Good plus in the variant light blue cloth lacking dust jacket. Boards are lightly rubbed, with slight bumping to the tips, and light fray at the heel with an accompanying bump to the text block. An early edition of the founding title for one of the twentieth century's most important social movements, one whose influence and value are inestimable. [Book #118666]
