Gilda

Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1946. Original Style A one sheet for the key 1946 film noir. One of the key films in the classic noir cycle, and a film that served as a model (never really matched) for merging a glamorous female character with a dark, subversive story. Virginia Van Upp's underrated screenplay gave the dialogue-driven film a kick that lived up to Rita Hayworth's iconic title character. The pressbook is modeled after the equally scarce and desirable one sheet poster for the film. 27 x 41 inches (105 x 89 centimeters), linen-backed. Fine condition. Hardy, The BFI Companion to Crime, p. 147. Selby (1984) 148, pp. 36-39. Silver, pp. 113-114.
