Near Fine in a bright, strong Very Good plus, unrestored dust jacket with a few tiny chips at the extremities. An attractive copy of a notable novel about a corrupt Southern evangelist, memorably filmed in 1960 with Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones, who both won Oscars, as did the screenplay by Richard Brooks.
