Los Angeles: Sol Lesser Productions / Principal Distributing Corporation, 1934. Original pressbooks for the first 4 film adaptations of H.C. McNeile's famed private eye, made in 1937-1938. Drummond was played in the first film by a young Ray Milland, then in the ensuing 3 entries by John Howard, ably accompanied by Colonel Neilson (John Barrymore). Howard became the quintessential Drummond, and played him in a total of 7 films, completing what most fans consider the "classic" adaptations. Each pressbook is 11.5 x 9.5 inches, 8 pages; all in Very Good plus condition, quite clean with no folds. [Book #121915]
