Los Angeles: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM], 1928. Original program for the first sound film ever made by MGM, based on the O. Henry story, "A Retrieved Reformation" and the subsequent popular stage adaptation. MGM completed the picture as a silent, but Irving Thalberg made a decision to have Haines and Barrymore repeat their performances with sound for the last two reels. The results were a bit clunky, but historic. Colorful illustrated wrappers, saddle-stitched, 16 pages, 9 x 12 inches, Very Good plus with a split at the top of the spine.
