Macdonald, John Ross
Find a Victim
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1954. First Edition. SIGNED by the author on the title page, presumably quite early on, as "John Ross Macdonald." Laid in is a two-page letter in holograph pencil, in the author's hand, spelling out a variant version of the dust jacket's copy--a provocative piece of ephemera in that it manifests an author's direct involvement in the marketing of his own book. Fine and unread in a spectacular, Fine dust jacket. The fifth Lew Archer novel, the best copy we have handled, and the only copy with such an important piece of ephemera. [Book #123897]
