Los Angeles: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM], 1981. Revised script for the 1982 film. SIGNED by director Blake Edwards on the front wrapper.
A great comedy, and an important one, as it was one of the first films where the taboo subjects of homosexuality, transvestism, and sexual identity were elevated to central themes. With a gender-bending and icon-twisting acting turn by Julie Andrews in the title role, and a score by longtime Edwards co-conspirator Henry Mancini. Made into a Broadway musical in 1995. Nominated for seven Academy Awards, with an Oscar going to Mancini for Best Original Score.
Light beige "Blake Edwards Company" wrappers with accompanying insignia. Title page present, with credits for director and screenwriter Edwards. 116 leaves, mimeograph. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, internally bound with three gold brads.
