Saint Joan | Bonjour Tristesse

Los Angeles: United Artists, Columbia Pictures, 1957, 1958. Original French pressbooks representing a sequence of two very literary dramatic adapatations by director Otto Preminger. Unlike the American advertisements for these films, both of the French pressbooks prominently feature the star of both films, Jean Seberg, at the time very much the "It" girl for the smart set in France.
The first, "Saint Joan," was adapated from George Bernard Shaw's play by Graham Greene, and the second was adapted from a novel by Francoise Sagan by Arthur Laurents.
"Saint Joan" is a two-color, three-panel fold-out. "Bonjour Tristesse" is in saddle-stitched self-wrappers, three-color throughout. Both pressbooks about Near Fine, with light rubbing. [Book #125836]
