Paris and New York: Cocinor / Astor Pictures, 1961. Original Press Kit for the US release of the seminal 1961 film. A custom assemblage, targeted for a special US debut for the film at the Studio Theatre in Detroit. O'Rourke (regarding publicity materials) and Charles Felleman (regarding special fashion and hairstyle layouts.)
The press kit is unusual and deluxe in terms of its contents, including still photographs, an ad supplement, a copy of the "NY Film Bulletin" (Issue 43) dedicated to the film, 3 small "scene cut" cards, and various Astor press releases regarding its early award history, the discovery of Delphine Seyrig in Greenwich Village, the film's March 1962 US premiere at the Museum of Modern Art, the debut of 36 Coco Chanel fashion creations in the film, and a piece on the construction of the "hotel" at the center of the film (actually shot in three different castles designed by the Mad King Ludwig of Bavaria, all in West Germany).
Above contents housed in a black-and-white photo illustrated folder. Contents all Near Fine, folder Very Good plus with some rubbing at the extremities.
