The Big Con

New York: Bobbs-Merrill, 1940. First Edition. Fine in a Very Good plus dust jacket, with publisher's yellow wraparound review band. Jacket is rubbed along the hinges and has a couple of tiny closed tears and a discreet mend along the front hinge, else quite nice. Laid into the book are three different promotional notices from the publisher, all in manual type, with biographical information about the author, including an offer to send him questions by mail. The definitive non-fiction book on various cons of the day, renowned as a secondary source book for the 1973 George Roy Hill film, The Sting, starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Extremely scarce in dust jacket, much less as a review copy. [Book #60357]
