The Stones of Summer
New York: Bobbs-Merrill, 1972. First Edition. INSCRIBED on the title page by the author: "Paula: two in one family, a record. Dow Mossman. Oct '03" and additionally INSCRIBED by the director of the film "Stone Reader" on the front endpaper: "For Paula - At Union Square in New York City--seeing this a gorgeous experience. Mark Moskowitz."
Moskowitz' film is a documentary of his year-long odyssey in finding Dow Mossman and trying to discover what had happened to him and his book. As noted in the film, the book was released, lauded as a masterpiece, and summarily forgotten. It has been scarce ever since, thus a copy signed by both the author and his resurrector is uncommon indeed.
Near Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket. [Book #73717]
