New York: Random House, 1942. First American Edition. Near Fine in a Very Good or better dust jacket. Jacket is bright, with brief chipping at the spine ends and corners (affecting the tops of the letters in "Hangover" at the crown), brief rubbing, and a few tiny touch-ups to black portions of the jacket. A very nice example of an extremely scarce title in dust jacket, basis for the superb 1945 film noir, the last film made starring the great Laird Cregar.
