The third of four crime novels by Shaw, issued by Dodge, an obscure publishing house responsible for 18 crime novels between 1906 and 1938. Shaw was one of the earliest practitioners of the hard-boiled school, and later the editor of Black Mask. Some offsetting to the endpapers, and light wear along the top edge of the jacket. The only jacketed copy of this title we have ever handled.
