Reuniting the stars of Universal's "The Spoilers" (also 1942), and based on a story by George Owen about the steel industry. Charles "Pittsburgh'" Markham (Wayne) stops at nothing to achieve financial success in the Pittsburgh steel industry, only to find himself deserted and lonely at the top.
Ex-"Stooge" Shemp Howard has a small role, as does Don Barclay, notable for having played a drunk (including "Pittsburgh") in eighteen films before 1950.
