The Late George Apley

Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1946. First Draft Continuity (pre-production) script for the 1947 film. Based on the 1944 play by George S. Kaufman and John P. Marquand, which was in turn adapted from Marquand's 1937 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Copy belonging to actress Peggy Cummins, with her signature in holograph pencil to the title page, her annotations throughout, and an unknown child's drawings present on some pages as well.

A wealthy, blue blooded Bostonian endeavors to forever shelter his two children, who have fallen in love with various non-Bostonians that meet with his disapproval. When his close-mindedness causes him to overstep his bounds with his peers he must reevaluate his outlook.
