Carole Lombard is engaged to one man, but romanced by another, a wealthy oil baron who attempts to woo her in ways that enrage her, including sending her fiance away to Japan. When he finally realizes he cannot win her heart, he reunites Lombard and her fiance, and it is the fiance who finally realizes that Lombard has actually fallen for the infuriating baron.
