Universal City, CA: Universal, 1954. Final Script for the 1955 film.
Harry Pierce (Abbott) and Willie Piper (Costello) are conned into buying the Edison Studio by Joe Gorman (Clark) who immediately leaves town with his girlfriend. Finding the deed bunk, they chase him across the country and stumble upon the set of a western where the director is impressed by their stunt work. The director is the original con man in disguise who arranges to dispose of Pierce and Piper, but is ended up chased to a final capture by Pierce and Piper and the Keystone Kops, who Pierce and Piper believe are real police and not the comedic troupe of incompetent policemen they actually portray. Lou Costello's daughter Carole also plays a small cameo role as a theater cashier.
Set in Hollywood, and shot on location in California.
