The third book collaboration between the two, a series of recollections by Stravinsky in the form of interviews by Craft. A companion volume to Conversations with Igor Stravinsky," published one year earlier.

Craft is an award winning conductor and musicologist who has led most of the major orchestras in the United States. His relationship with Stravinsky is legendary, not just in terms of documenting the composer's life, but in that Craft conducted the world premieres of many of Stravinsky's later masterpieces. In 2002 he received the International Prix due Disc at the Cannes Music Festival.
