Harrison arranged a concert to benefit the people of Bangladesh (at the behest of Ravi Shankar), and staged the show in New York's Madison Square Garden in 1971. Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, and many others performed alongside Harrison, and it is considered one of the first foreign-aid benefit concerts.
