Generally well regarded dinosaur film, about a cowboy who seeks fame and fortune by capturing a Tyrannosaurus Rex (the Gwangi) and exploiting it in a Mexican circus. Visual effects guru, Ray Harryhausen, who discovered the aging screenplay in a box in his garage, proved his mastery yet again in this film, creating a surprisingly lifelike creatures.
