Based on Sartre's 1946 play, "La putain respectueuse," about the murder of a black man on a train. The only witnesses are an American prostitute and a black man. The suspect tries to seduce the prostitute to make her give false testimony that the black man attempted to rape her. She finally gives in to the suspects demands, but the black man, after nearly being lynched, flees to safety in her home.
