London: London National Archives [LNA], 1950. Two vintage black-and-white still photographs from the September 14, 1950 premiere of the UK film at Leicester Square Theatre in London. Mimeograph snipes from the London National Archives affixed to the versos.

Features Rose Murphy ("chee chee girl," pianist and vocalist, famous for "Pennies from Heaven") and her then-husband, Ed Mathieu, Kieron Moore (Count Vronsky in "Anna Karenina," 1948), Adelaide Hall (American UK-based entertainer, and a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance), and Marjorie Rhodes (Mrs. Rosie Saparelli in "Gideon of Scotland Yard," 1958). Though none of them were directly involved with the film, London premieres played host to film stars, artists, community patrons, and musicians of all kinds.
