Hemel Pike is a canal barge casanova, with a girl in every town along his route. They all want to marry Hemel but he is comfortable as a single man, until one of the woman becomes pregnant. A good look at the English canal system of the 1960s, and its commercial boat trading economy that quickly died.

Shot on location in Hertfordshire and London, England.
