Based on the 1946 memoir by Wladslaw Szpilman, about his survival in the Nazi-occupied Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes and three Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay. Nominated for four others, including Best Picture.

Set in Warsaw, shot on location in Brandenberg and Berlin and Warsaw.
