Director Paul Bogart's sequel to Robert Mulligan's 1971 film, "Summer of '42." Hermie (Grimes), Oscy (Houser), and Benjie (Conant) graduate from high school in the waning months of World War II, and go separate ways. Benjie joins the Marines, while Hermie and Oscy take on the daunting task of entering college. Hermie falls for beautiful college freshman Julie (Winters), and a fraternity president (William Atherton) supervises hazing rituals.

Shot on location in New York, New Jersey (Princeton University), and Canada.
