"Le proces" (released as "The Trial" in the UK and the US) was co-produced by entities in France, West Germany, and Italy, and was shot in France between March and June of 1962. Welles considered it his best film, and it remains one of the few great twentieth century adaptations of existentialist literature, and the definitive visualization of Kafka's work.
