Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1979. Collection of 5 vintage black-and-white studio still photographs from the American release of the 1979 film.
In a rundown diner off the highway in nowhere New Mexico, a group of people are held up by a Vietnam veteran and his wide-eyed girlfriend. Teddy, the vet (Marjoe Gortner), bombards his hostages with a series of psychologically unnerving questions and accusations, revealing their shallowly buried fears and anxieties. The film was also staged as a play at the Circle Repertory Company on Broadway, under the director Kenneth Frankel. Its Off-Broadway productions, however, faired poorly and had much less favorable reviews.
