The twenty-fourth entry in the famed "Charlie Chan" film series, and the eighth to feature Sydney Toler, wherein the great Honolulu-based detective arriving in New York for a policeman's convention, only to be confronted with a murder mystery and a sea of suspects. An unexpected highlight of the film is a "line-up" bit by an uncredited Shemp Howard (Hal Erickson).
