The Mad Adventures of "Rabbi" Jacob
Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1973. Vintage black-and-white reference studio still photographs from the 1973 film.
The film follows the blunders of an antisemitic Frenchman, a Rabbi, and an Arab revolutionary. After a merry mixup, the Frenchman must disguise himself as the Rabbi, who is subsequently confused for the revolutionary. Audiences were initially turned off by the title, believing it to be a religious film. The filmmakers added "mad" to emphasize its satirical nature.
