Los Angeles: Twentieth Century Fox, 1947. Second Revised Final script for the 1947 film. INSCRIBED by screenwriter Richard Murphy during production of the film on the title page: "For Max - / With thanks for everything, but especially the advise that led to doing this magillah - / Murph." With a holograph ink notation in Murphy's hand on the verso of one page, making a substantial addition to the dialogue. Murphy would go on to win the Academy Award for his screenplay.

Based on an article "The Perfect Case" by Anthony Abbot (Fulton Oursler), originally published in "Rotarian" magazine in December of 1945, and later condensed into a "Reader's Digest" version, about the real life case of a vagrant accused of murder and the prosecutor who exonerated him.

Set in Bridgeport, CT, where the real crime took place, but shot on location in Stamford, CT and White Plains, NY after the town refused permission for the film to shoot there.

Beige titled wrapper, noted as Second Shooting Final on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped copy No. 43 and production No. 122, dated January 11, 1947. Distribution page present, with receipt intact. Title page present, dated January 11, 1947, with credits for screenwriter Murphy and writer Abbot. 165 leaves, with last leaf of text numbered 162. Mimeographed, with pages dated variously between 9/18/46 and 12/2/46. Pages Near Fine, wrapper about Very Good, bound internally with two gold brads.
