N.p. Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, 1918. Vintage studio still photograph from the 1918 film. Based on Harley Granville-Barker and Laurence Housman's 1906 play, "Prunella, or, Love in a Dutch Garden."
A delightful romantic fantasy, now almost entirely lost, in which Margierite Clark plays a young woman living in a garden with her three aunts, completely shielded from the exterior world. One day a troupe of traveling players arrives in town and Clark runs off with Pierrot, their leader. In the still we see Clark perched upon the edge of a fountain as Jules Raucourt, Pirrot, leans in and whispers in her ear.
8 x 10 inches. A stamp to the verso, else Near Fine.
