One of the longest-running primetime dramas on US television, surpassed only by "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza." A soap opera with a notable early appearance from actor Alec Baldwin, who played Joshua Rush, an innocent young preacher. The show was extremely popular, peaking in the 1983-4 season with a 20.8 rating.
