A Cold War political thriller about an attempted coup in the US government. Although the pentagon expressed a dislike for the film, President John F. Kennedy was encouraging, even assisting in its production by arranging a visit to his home in Hyannis Port when the crew needed to shoot outside the White House.

Shot on location in Arizona, California, Virginia, DC, and France.
