As on a Darkling Plain

A tragedy that takes place in a dump, where the residents are workers, digging up turn-of-the-century artifacts housed in now-buried ships on a landfill belonging to a foul, conniving woman. A fugitive murderer is discovered on their property and he both works for them and has his bottle of medicine pushed into the fire, creating a very clever imitation amethyst, much to the delight of the landowner, who delights in antique glassware.

Set in Oakland.
