Based on Walter Wager's 1987 novel, "58 minutes." John McClane (Willis) attempts to save Dulles Airport from South American drug lords who have seized electronic communications between the airplanes and the airport.
Shot on location in Michigan, California, and Colorado. Preceded by the epic thriller "Die Hard" (1988), and followed by "Die Hard with a Vengeance" (1995), "Live Free or Die Hard" (2007), and "A Good Day to Die Hard" (2013). The series has inspired video games and comic books, as well as spoof films and characters, with further projects in the works.
