N.p. N.p., 1977. Collection of four vintage, large format color negatives of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's 1977 installation "Wrapped Walk Ways," including one aerial view of the entire project. Two negatives with mimeo snipes attached at the bottom edge, a third mimeo snipe detached.
Photographer Wolfgang Volz began collaborating with artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude in 1972, exclusively photographing not only their finished work, but the sometimes lengthy and laborious construction process. Given the ephemeral nature of the pair's public artworks, Volz's photographs remain the only lasting documentation of the projects.
With "Wrapped Walk Ways," Christo and Jeanne-Claude covered nearly three miles of footpaths in Kansas City, Missouri's Loose Park with shiny orange nylon fabric, which remained in place for two weeks.
Negatives 5 x 4 inches (13 x 10 cm). Fine.
