Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1978. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the verso of the half title page: "For my dear friend / Paul Sullivan / truly one of the great Gaels / with admiration / Morgan Llywelyn." The author's first book.
Laid in is a one page typed letter signed from Llywelyn to Sullivan, dated March 23, 1982. In the letter, Llywelyn expresses her thanks for Sullivan's "gracious hospitality during [her] recent visit to Pittsburgh," and "to all the members of the Gaelic Arts who worked... to make this trip beautiful and memorable." She also mentions enclosing the book on offer here as a "small token of appreciation," and noting that "it was a good beginning," and being "rather pleasantly surprised" with its quality when she rereads it.
All in all, a warm and revealing letter from the award winning author of historical fiction.
