An account of the early career of the nineteenth century American actor Edwin Booth, thought at an early age to be the greatest Hamlet of his day, but who also had the misfortune of being brother of the equally charming (and ultimately deadly) figure, John Wilkes Booth.

Set in London, Maryland, and Louisiana.
