Paris: William Morris Agency, Circa 1950s. Two original double-weight photographs of Italian writer, photographer, designer Baron Alessandro Albrizzi, circa 1950s. On the verso of the smaller photograph is Albrizzi's name in holograph ink within a rubber-stamp crediting William Morris (Paris), and both Albrizzi's and Morris' names on the verso of the larger photograph, in holograph ink. Large photograph printed on Agfa-Brovira stock, a watermark seen mostly before 1960.
Albrizzi was a notable designer and photographer, from a prominent Italian family known for design, particularly furniture. He snapped photographs for two books by Mary Jane Pool, "The Gardens of Venice" (1989) and "The Gardens of Florence" (1992), and his obituary appeared in the New York Times in 1994.
