Bourvil and company

Tours: La Nouvelle Republique, 1950s. Two original black-and-white single weight press photographs of French actor Bourvil, in the company of several men and one woman, presumably his wife, Jeanne Lefrique. Ditto-style rubber-stamp for La Nouvelle Republique, a news agency in Tours, France, on the versos.

Bourvil (1917-1970) made notable films with with Louis de Funes, "Le Corniaud" (1965) and "La Grande Vadrouille" (1966), and was featured in at least one film nearly every year from 1942 to his death, several showcasing his singing ability. He married Lefrique in 1943.
