Based on the amazing life of Agnes Salm-Salm, a woman born in Vermont who married the Prussian mercenary, Prince Felix Salm-Salm. This story focuses on their time in Mexico when Felix was fighting in defense of Maximilian I, the short lived Habsburg appointed Emperor of Mexico. Felix Salm-Salm and Maximilian I were quickly captured. Agnes met multiple times with Mexican President Benito Juarez, pleading him to spare their lives, but to no avail.

Set in Mexico.
