Robert Taylor plays a rough and tumble archaeologist who is convinced by another archaeologist's daughter (Eleanor Parker) to go searching for evidence of the life of the Biblical Joseph. A difficult production plagued the film, including harsh, purportedly underfunded filming conditions. One of only five directorial efforts from Robert Pirosh.

Set in Egypt, shot on location in Egypt and Libya.

Blue titled wrappers, noted as TEMPORARY COMPLETE on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped copy No. 96 and production No. 5576, dated 5/14/53, with credits for screenwriters R. Pirosh and K. Tunberg. Title page integral with the first page of the text, dated 5-16-53. 113 leaves, with last page of text numbered 110.
